My students can expect to talk a lot and become very active themselves. I very much encourage student-led exploration, but will always give students a guide and explanations so they feel comfortable in my class. I think it is important to work on all four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking), although I always try to accommodate/plan a lesson according to the student´s need. Also, structure is very important because it helps to see progress and the student knows what to expect next.

I have been teaching German and English to adults for 10 years, mostly at a university and for the last 5 years also online. I have taught English A1 to B1 and German all the way from A1-C1. Therefore, I am happy to help you with your first steps or discuss topics of your interest at a higher level. I can also help you with exam preparation since my students at university had to write a lot of them.

I originally studied cultural anthropology as my major and philosophy and modern history as my minors. Therefore, I am knowledgeable about cultural differences and sensitivities. At higher levels, we can also discuss these topics as well as art and literature.
