For 25 years I was a lawyer in London and later managed a bicycle sales and distribution business. I love English as a language, and my aim is to share my skills, knowledge and enthusiasm with students like you. I will help you to improve your English through conversation and exercises, with a bias towards relevant vocabulary and improving pronunciation.

I teach mainly through conversation, and I share real news articles from 4 main UK newspapers. We can also look at anything you may want to bring to a lesson. I have my own materials and have a programme of homework exercises to help build vocabulary and to practise writing and punctuation skills.

I have been teaching English since Spring 2020, both in person and online. My students are adults who already have a reasonable grasp of English (A2 and above) and come from many different parts of the world. I aim to help them with the fundamentals of the language as well as the more subtle ways in which language shapes our cultures. English is an evolving language so I seek to help students with what is correct grammar and use and what is commonly spoken.

I was a lawyer for 25 years, working in commercial and business law, both contentious and non-contentious. After that I had a business supplying hand-built bicycles to shops in the UK. As a lawyer it was important to use language correctly and efficiently, and I try to bring my enthusiasm for language to my students.
