Mi metodología de enseñanza:
Mi experiencia docente:
I have over five years of teaching experience and for the last two years, I've worked exclusively with adults and students studying abroad. My students are from Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Korea, Japan, China, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Brazil, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine, some are doctors, nurses, pastors, account managers, musicians, university professors, marketing directors, and even an Olympian! While living in Spain I also worked in two after-school programs at two elementary schools and substituted at one language school where I taught adults and teens. During this time I took a 10-month developing teacher course where I was given additional tools to teach English and received critiques from my peers and professors on how to improve my classroom teaching skills.
Mi experiencia fuera de la enseñanza:
Before becoming a teacher I worked in education administration for 14 years, first as a secretary, and then as a Deputy Clerk. I managed truancy, proctored general equivalency diploma exams or GEDs, wrote job descriptions, scrutinized employment resumes, attended and wrote minutes for board meetings, processed payroll for five school districts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, completed onboarding for new employees, whistleblower reporting, forecasting, and managing grants. In 2013, I went back to school and studied religion, psychology, communications, and Spanish. While at the university I received multiple honors. I was on the President's list, Honor Roll, and Dean's list nine times and received almost $50,000 in scholarships. This gave me the opportunity to study abroad in England and Spain where I learned to teach English and completed my Bachelor's degree.
