I have been teaching in South Korea since 2008. I split English into two parts: input and output. Input is how you learn, output is how you become fluent. Reading and listening are input, and you will focus on these outside the class. Writing and speaking are output and we will focus on these in the class. This way, you will use your time AND your brain in the most efficient and effective way to maximize your learning and improve rapidly in a way that feels fantastic!

My teaching methodology:
Ten minutes every day is better than an hour a week. So my lessons are only a part of your learning. I ask you to read, write and listen every day - how much depends on you, but consistency is the key to success. In your own time, you will read easy, enjoyable books in English, listen to podcasts and keep a diary. Then in the class we will practice what you have learned through activities, role-plays and conversation. Every few weeks we will have simple tests so we can revisit past material, and so that you can feel good about what you have learned so far!
My teaching background:

I have been living and teaching English in South Korea for the past 15 years. During this time, I have worked in public schools, private institutions and local government. More recently, I have begun concentrating on private tutoring because I find this the most effective and the most fulfilling. I have helped countless students of all ages and backgrounds to improve their English, and I have learned a great deal in the process. Living in a foreign country, and struggling to learn the language and understand the culture myself has also been invaluable in helping me to understand the difficulties my students encounter - and how to help resolve them.

My background outside of teaching:

I have a wide range of interests, including anthropology and the social sciences, computer programming and data science, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities, music, philosophy, cinema, literature, economics... I'm always open to learning new things, and if you have a particular interest or goal in mind, we can probably work it into our classes and explore it together.
