Hi, I’m Yelena — a CELTA-certified English tutor with a BA in Linguistics and 5+ years of experience teaching learners worldwide. I specialize in conversational and business English, working with levels A1 to C2. My lessons are tailored, engaging, and designed to build confidence, fluency, and real-world communication skills. I use a variety of engaging resources to support lessons and spark discussion, including articles, videos, podcasts, and images. Materials are selected based on students’ interests, goals, and CEFR level. I also share interactive worksheets, vocabulary builders, and grammar exercises tailored to each learner.

In our online lessons, I use digital tools to create an immersive and interactive environment. This includes screen sharing, presentations, and real-time activities. Students receive materials such as PDFs, audio files, and video links directly during class.

I’ve been teaching English online for over five years, working with adult and teen learners from around the world. My students range from complete beginners (A1) to upper-intermediate (C1), and I specialize in conversational and business English, exam prep (IELTS), and career-focused coaching. I’ve helped learners improve fluency, pass exams, and succeed in fields like aviation, fashion, and international business. My approach is communicative, student-centered, and task-based. I encourage learners to actively practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a supportive, interactive environment. Lessons often include real-life scenarios, role-plays, and group discussions to build practical language skills. Outside of teaching, I bring over 15 years of diverse professional experience. I’ve worked with NGOs and the United Nations on global initiatives, collaborated with Wikimedia, and held roles in retail and construction companies — primarily in communications and client-facing work. I’ve also run my own business. These experiences have shaped my adaptability, cultural awareness, and ability to connect meaningfully with people from all walks of life. They also allow me to support students with career-focused language training, interview preparation, and real-world business communication.
