Bio:
I live in Southern Spain and started teaching in 2007 and have taught Cambridge Exam courses and Preparation since 2010 (NO IELTS, please :)) My preferred level to teach is higher-level teenagers to adults. I am a teacher who loves to share experiences and culture in class, so enjoy doing conversation classes. I am hoping to improve my Spanish and restart my German, although I am a better teacher than a student :) I like reading crime/detective fiction and love to create things
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
I am a qualified self-employed EFL teacher since 2007 and have taught Cambridge Exam courses and Preparation since 2010 Preliminary, First and Advanced (NO IELTS, please :)) My preferred levels to teach are B1/B2/C1. I have worked in academies, local schools and businesses, and online, doing all types of English learning objectives and teaching all ages. In 2016 I opened my own academy in the local village but in February 2022, I had to close and look to develop my online business further. I have used many books by different publishers over the years and mainly use my own materials and online platforms in class. I am currently updating the course I provide for younger teens preparing for B1/B2/C1. I am very flexible in the way I teach as I believe every student is important and one style of teaching does not fit all!! The materials I use are to give every learner the chance to be presented with the objective and the opportunity to practice and improve. I believe your goal is my goal!!
My background outside of teaching:
I have experience in customer service, sales, and banking. Before I left the UK to start my adventure in Spain, I was a mortgage adviser. I enjoy travelling, horse-riding and reading. I try to keep up-to-date with world news and events and enjoy debating the issues within class
