Biografía:
First of all, I try to get to know my students and their learning styles, then I adapt my teaching style to their learning styles, to help them achieve their goals. I am a very passionate teacher and honestly think of teaching even when I am not doing so. However, I also love reading. So I dedicate a lot of my free time to reading a good book. As a normal Dominican, I love baseball, and sometimes I can also watch an MLB game.
Mi metodología de enseñanza:
This is what some of my students say about me: "Diomedes De La Rosa holds advanced degrees in language studies and has extensive experience in teaching. A native Spanish speaker himself, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every lesson, ensuring that our students receive top-quality instruction tailored to their individual learning styles".
Mi experiencia docente:
I started teaching when I was 18 years old (30 years ago). I have taught at language schools, primary schools, middle schools, high schools, and universities. All of that has given me a lot of teaching experience. However, the most important thing I have learned about teaching in those 30 years is that every single student is different from all the others. Therefore, it would be wrong to try to use previous experiences as if copying and pasting to solve new challenges we face along the way. The one thing we can do is use those experiences to become flexible enough to adapt our teaching style to meet our students' needs.
Mi experiencia fuera de la enseñanza:
I was born in the Dominican Republic. My native language is Spanish, but I learned English between the ages of 14 and 16. One of my biggest passions is reading. When I was in high school, I won a reading contest with over 500 books read. My favorite writer is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I read all his books, and it is difficult for me to decide which book is my favorite among his books, but it is always between "A Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Cholera"
