My teaching methodology:
What English assets and deficiencies do you have? We will make a program together that fits your needs. Foreign speakers often need help on "TH" and past tense usage. To have some fun, let's try out some tongue twisters and compare some of the crazy rules we have in our language. Expect simple conversation, building up confidence, correcting pronunciation and building vocabulary while you are coached in a relaxed and easy atmosphere. Love conversation on just about any topic so we will explore your passion here and use what interests you to keep you motivated and engaged in the time we spend together.
My teaching background:
Teaching English for some time now and really enjoy meeting new people interested in improving their speaking skills. From Central and South America where I began to teach locals in exchange for learning their language, it became an integral part of the traveling experience. Being a part of Langu, has really taught me a lot about how to be a good listener and forced me to revisit my English roots. So studying communication and exchanging those skills with others has been the most rewarding and motivating part of being an English teacher and coach.
My background outside of teaching:
Motivated by a big interest in etymology, (word history) and the study of cultures and their relationship with phonology, (sound study), while traveling and living through this miracle of a planet, has made for some mind boggling adventures that are sure to color our conversations as we share our experiences. In order of learning, have experience with French, Spanish, German and now use Portuguese as my daily driver. Would like to learn Polish but what a hard language grammatically, so really impressed with students who have a motivation to learn English here. It is interesting and funny when we compare these two very differently spoken languages.
